GD Call for October Challenge

Hello Everyone

Exciting News!!!!  

We are looking for a Guest Designer to join us for our October Challenge. This GD call will run until 30th June at 8pm.

If chosen, you will be required to make one project following the October Theme which will go live on 6th October 2015 at 7am.  As we do not have Sponsors you will need to use one of your own images for your creation.

Introducing DT Member Lisa

Hi My Name is Lisa (Lisa J when linking up to Challenges!)

I am married with 3 young children.   I  have been crafting since 1991.  I started out learning 3d decoupage and made mainly pictures.  There was no die cutting in those days so I used to cut out each layer with a craft knife.  One picture took me 22 hours!  I then changed over to card making but still using 3d "traditional" decoupage.  I played around a bit with Rubber stamping and colouring but found that the lack of tools/pens available back then hindered a good result or I just wasn't any good at it!  A few years ago I discovered die cuts and chalk and found it relaxing to sit and chalk and make up toppers.  Then I met a lovely lady and now fab friend (and fellow DT Member) who purchased one of my toppers.  She was into stamping and colouring and she introduced me to ProMarkers and the wonderful world of Digi Stamps and encouraged me to have another go at colouring.  I have never looked back.  I love colouring both digi and rubber stamps and experimenting with colours. I have also experimented with different Pens but I don't think I can ever be separated from my ProMarkers.   I love the CAS style and also Monochrome/GreyScale and White on White.  I am particularly fond of all things Mythical and Magical with Unicorns being my favourite Mythical Creature.  

That's about it from me other than I would like to say Thank you to my two Team Mates who have been helping get this Challenge Blog up and running. Without them this wouldn't be possible so Thank You Ladies!

Introducing DT Member Claire

Hi Everyone

Hope you had a good week.

Time is flying on, Half way through May already.  Won't be long before September is here and the first challenge goes live. 

In the meantime, I would like to introduce to another one of the Unicorn Challenges DT Members.

I'm Claire and I love to cross stitch!  I live in Hampshire with my husband of nearly 12 years and our 7 year old son.  We have a cat who is not helpful when I'm trying to craft! I've been stitching since I was small, I used to do one big picture at a time but am running out of wall space so had to become more selective.  I started making small cross stitch pictures to make into cards a couple of years ago, they weren't very good back then, just the stitching in an aperture card. I've gradually become more adventurous with background papers and embellishments and started entering challenge blogs in January.  I'm now beginning to colour digital stamps with promarkers but art was never my strong suit so I am struggling with the shading. I hope to have something of a good enough standard to blog by the end of the year.  I still do the big cross stitch pictures, I'm doing a reindeer that I'm determined will be a cushion by Christmas.  Then I have a picture of an oriental scene in a fan shape to do and then the biggie - a Heaven and Earth design called Treasure Hunt Bookshelf. It is a beautiful picture but the chart is over 50 pages long  so it's going to take years!  Can't wait to get started though!

Introducing DT Member Traci

Hi Everyone

I would like to introduce you to one of the Unicorn Challenge DT Members.

Traci

Hi, I'm Traci.  I live in Leicester with my beloved pooches whom are not very forgiving when Im crafting and my attention is taken away from them, they like to be the centre of my attention!!

I have been crafting for many years where I enjoyed cross stitching and knitting. I was only introduced to card making some 3 years ago and was instantly drawn in. This is definitely my addiction. I adore colouring to the point of obsession!  The cards that I make I donate to various animal charities.  I am thrilled to be a part of Unicorn... my fellow DT members are my craft family.  I am blessed to have these girls as friends. 

 The card I have made here I think sums me up totally.  If I can make anything pink, add glitter and finish with pearls then I am in my element
